why is sexual reproduction important if we can reproduce asexually?

Sexual reproduction is important because it generates genetic variations among species which leads to the occurrence of diversity. Genetic variation occurs through genetic recombination during meiosis process. This leads to exchange of genes which develops variations among individuals.
Whereas in asexual reproduction, genetic variation does not occurs that develops identical individuals among population.
