Silk is a natural fibre, which is obtained by silkworms and we know that it is too much time taking and even no guarantee of the successful production because, during the process the silkworms should have given an immense care and safety, the cocoon is protected and even after doing this we get very few raw material from thousands of the silk worm and also the clean silk fibre is obtained by various purification processes after which the net product becomes much less.
So, after a big cost and work we get very few meters of silk fibres and so its production cost goes high while rayon is a synthetic fibre and can be prepared in lab at very low cost and in less time so, its cost is also lower.
