Sustainability is important for development as it cannot be a stop start process. Sustainability ensures continued development whose benefits can be reaped by all sections of the society. It would also lead to development across generations.

Methods to ensure sustainable development are as follows:

i) Increasing the share of renewable sources of energy to fulfil the energy requirements.

ii) Conserving the environment to maintain ecological balance and mitigate the impact of climate change.
