why is virus is not considered still a living organism??

Usually viruses do not meet any criteria of a living organism.

  • Virus does not possess cell membrane.
  • It cannot feed.
  • It cannot reproduce until it enters a living cell.
  • It cannot move or response to any stimulus.
  • It cannot grow or develop independently.

Thus according to scientists (specially virologists) virus is not a living thing.
