Why nitogen has higher ionization energy than oxygen??

₈O: 1s² 2s² 2p⁴
Since the ejection of electron takes place from 2p³ sub-shell which is highly stable as compared to 2p⁴ sub-shell of oxygen. Therefore nitrogen shows higher I.P. value than oxygen.
