Why only distilled water is used for making the solution of solid substances?
Distilled water is basically pure water in which no impurities are present, i.e. it does not contain any ions from other compounds. The solutions prepared using distilled water are therefore pure (provided the solid substance is also pure). More is the purity, lesser would be the scope of error if such solutions are used in any experiment(s). Hence, distilled water is used in preparing solutions of solid substances.
