Why only high reactive metal replace low reactive metal and not non metals

Both Metals and Non-Metals have their reactivity series.

Yes, it is well known fact that highly reactive metal replaces low reactive metal.

However, when we react a highly reactive metal with low reactive non-metals they form Ionic compounds together, instead of replacing the Non-Metals. That's, how they behave in chemistry.
