Question

why orbits in bohr's atomic model are also called energy levels

Open in App
Solution

Bohr proposed that when electron move from higher orbital to lower orbital it causes release of energy (sometimes observed in form of light) and vice versa.
Thus it proved that electrons possess energy and this energy depends on the orbital in which the electron is present.
Hence Bohr called them energy levels.
