Question

why Pure line selection has no association with natural selection?

Open in App
Solution

This is because natural selection depends on phenotype of organisms. Nature selects the one which is best suited for the environment in which it lives and is favourable. The phenotype which gives advantages for survival over others is selected by nature. Such advantages may be present in pure line or hybrid genome. In pure line selection, only pure genome or genome with homozygous trait is selected.
