The fourth sate of matter is plasma.It consists of energetic ionisied particles because in this state, the atoms of a gas are excited to high energy levels such that the electrons are removed from the atoms of gas but remain in the gas only.The atoms are thus ionized producing positive and negative charges having high energy and which are free to move independently.
