why the idea of a constituencies is there is a election ?

One of the features of a democratic election is that every vote should have equal value.That is why our Constitution requires that each constituency should have a roughly equal population living within it. Hence, the idea of equality lies behind the formation of constituency. Interestingly, there are 543 constituencies in India.
