Question

why the name of the prime factorization is prime factorization?

Open in App
Solution

The prime factors of a positive integer are the prime numbers that divide that integer exactly,

without leaving a remainder. The process of finding these numbers is called integer factorization

or prime factorization.

Since we are finding the prime factors only, that's why this process of finding the prime factors

is known as prime factorization.
