Why the rate of multiplication of viruses is very low in the meristematic tips?

Meristematic tissues are group of cells that have the ability to divide and give rise to new organs of the plant. The cells of the meristematic tissue are continuously sloughed off .This allows a continuous production of new cells required for growth. Also, due to high metabolic activity of meristematic tissue and high concentration of auxin, the viral growth is inhibited.
