Solution

Curry stain on the clothes contains turmeric which turns red in basic solution. Due to this, the stain of a curry on a white cloth becomes reddish brown when soap is scrubbed on it.
On washing with plenty of water, the curry stain turns yellow again because water is neutral and in neutral solution, turmeric remains yellow.
