Why there is differentiation inthe reactions when they call it burning or heating

Heating means application of heat. This heat may initiate some reaction / physical change.
e.g. heating an ice cube cause melting.
But during burning chemical reaction occur. This is basically oxidation reaction with evolve of heat.
e.g. burning of coal leads to production of carbon dioxide and heat.
C + O₂ → CO₂ + Heat
