Question

Why virus does not get cured by antibiotics?

Open in App
Solution

Antibiotics are agents which inhibit the growth of bacteria and kill bacteria. Antibiotics are very specific to the bacterial cells and they may act by inhibiting bacterial enzymes and cell wall synthesis. So, they do not effect viruses as viruses have different modes of growth and replication. Antibiotics are ineffective against viral proteins and enzymes.
