Question

Why water is liquid at room temperature?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student!
Water is liquid at room temperature, because of the presence of hydrogen bonds which binds the molecules together and don't allow them to move freely so that they behave as liquid. Actually besides of , the van der waal's force the hydrogen bond also acts on the water molecule and also here the energy is very low at room temperature, so the bond does not break and water molecules become bonded together.
