Question

Why we can not have rasonance in RL or RC circuit?

Open in App
Solution

At resonance reactance offered by inductor is cancelled by the reactance offered by the capacitor.
In RL or RC circuit, reactance offered by the inductor or capacitor is not cancelled by the resistor, so we can not have resonance in RL or RC circuit.
