Question

Why we cant see the waves of sound through our eyes? As we cant see them then how can we tell that sound travels in waves?

We can see it in other medium like water but not in air so how can we tell it ?

Solution

Sound is the disturbance created in particles of the medium. As we cannot see air molecules so we are not able to see sound wave propagation in air. Similarly we can see water and the disturbance created in it also visible to us thus we can sense the propagation of sound through water.

By seeing sound wave propagation in other materials we concluded that it is travelled by creating pressure gradient.
