why while writing chemical formulae we do not have to specify ion

Dear student, while writing a chemical formula we just write atoms not ions as ions exist independently in aqueous state. Since the charge on ions are neutralize by the other oppositely charged ions in a compound therefore it becomes neutral and exhibit no charge.
