Open in App
Solution

Always remember that solute potential and pressure potential are two opposing forces. Solute potential is a negative force which causes entry of water into the cell. Pressure potential is a positive force which opposes the entry of water into the cell. So, if pressure potential of a cell increases then solute potential decreases.
