Solution

Yes digestion process is a chemical change as it occurs when the chemical make-up of the food particle is changed to create a new substance. But as it is occurring in a biological living organism, it is bio-chemical process. During the digestive process, enzymes change carbohydrates, proteins, fats and nucleic acids into substances that can be absorbed by cells. In mouth chemical digestion by saliva (contain enzymes that digest the carbohydrate). In stomach the proteins are fats are digested by various digestive enzymes present in gastric juice. In small intestine the protein, fats and carbohydrate are digested into smaller particle.

Starch → Maltose + Isomaltose + Dextrin (enzyme amylase in mouth)

Milk Casein → Paracasein (enzyme rennin in stomach)
