1) Oxygen is essential for ones survival.
2) Nitrogen is used in fertilizers, to inflate tyres. It is also filled in tube lights and light bulbs.
3) Carbon is used in our daily life in different forms like wood, diamonds, pencil lead etc.
4) Sulphur compounds are used as preservatives and refrigerants, disinfectant, germicide etc.
5) Chlorine is used to kill bacteria in water
6) Phosphorus is used in biological processes, to keep ham and sausage fresh and juicy and it is also essential for plants.
7) Fluorine is used in toothpastes, refrigerators etc.
