(a) Apiary is a place where honey bees are reared for extraction of honey. It consists of wooden boxes with an opening and the exit to the bees at the bottom. A number of wooden frames coated with wax sheets are placed in the chamber. Each wax sheet is known as comb. When sufficient honey has been stored, the combs are removed from the frames and honey is extracted. Rearing of honey bees is called apiculture.
(b) Poultry farming is the domestication of birds such as chickens, turkeys, swans, fowls, pigeons for economic purpose. Poultry farming provides eggs and meat which are highly nutritious food. The faecal matter of birds from a rich manure which increase the fertility of soil. By selling th eggs and meat of domesticated bird, the farmers become economically better.
