↵The fertiliser industry produces fertilisers to enhance the crop production and irrigation methods

1. Major producers: The major components produced by this industry are;

​i. Nitrogenous, phosphatic and ammonium fertilisers.
ii. Complex fertilisers having a combination of nitrogen, phosphate and potash.
iii Potash is totally imported from other countries.

2. Fertilizer units:

3. Major producer states are:

1. Gujarat, Tamilnadu, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Kerala contributes towards half of fertilizer production.
2. Others significant states are – Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar and Goa etc.
