Pariksha guru is a Hindi novel written by Srinivas Das which is considered as a landmark in Hindi fiction.In this novel the writer depicted the lifestyle of new middle class which was lavish and extravagant.It opposed the adoption of western culture by the youths of this class as it may lead to destruction of their lives.

He emphasised in living a simple and practical life by preserving all age-old values and traditions.He was not against modernity and its adoption but at the same time he wants the middle class to preserve their values.he did not want is class to get swayed away by the western culture.
