Open in App
Solution

Timur invaded India in 1398 when the Tughlaq dynasty's power had weakened due to various reasons. The wealth of the country invited invasions from foreign invaders like Timur. He was a barbaric Mongol chief and was known as Timur, the Lame because of the many wounds that he bore in many battles. He killed soldiers and civilians alike in his invasions and plundered the city of Delhi. He carried the wealth and riches from Delhi to his capital Samarkand and built many palaces, gardens and other buildings to beautify it. This was one of the many such invasions that were carried out by foreign invaders.
