Subject: Discrimination against women
Sir,
Through the columns of your widely circulated daily, I would like to draw the attention of the people to the way women are discriminated in today's society. Everywhere we go we are made to feel inferior to men. Whether it is the ration shop of a job vacancy, women always have been treated like second grade citizens.
Women have shown that they do not lag behind men in any field, be it education or sports, politics or any other field. Why is it then that the mentality of the men has not changed over centuries? It is high time that the position of a women as a home maker as well as a career women be recognised and equal status be given to them.
Through your newspaper you can throw light on women's importance in society by publishing articles about dynamic women who make a difference to the society. It should be a joint effort on part of the society as whole to uplift the image of women so that they may get out of the stigma attached to them and live equally.
Yours truly
