  • radial and bilateral symmetry

Open in App
Solution

Radial Symmetry: In radial symmetry if an organism is cut through the center in any direction two identical halves are obtained in every cut. The organisms do not have any left or right side. Organisms like starfish, sea urchin, sea cucumber etc. show radial symmetry.

Bilateral Symmetry: If a bilaterally symmetrical organism is cut from the middle only two identical halves are obtained – left half and right half. All higher organisms like mammals, birds etc. show bilateral symmetry.
