Solution

Two steps are involved in the production of hydrogen from natural gas.
First at high temperature (700-1100^oC). It is an endothermic reaction.
$C H_{4} + H_{2} O \to C O + 3 H_{2}$

2) Additional hydrogen is produced through the exothermic process at low temperature.This reaction is known as water gas shift reaction.
$C O + H_{2} O \to C O_{2} + H_{2}$
