Write the formula of the soluble substance formed when zinc reacts with Sodium Hydroxide.

When Zn reacts with NaOH solution it forms complex compound called sodium zincate : Na2[Zn(OH)4]. Sodium zincate is soluble in water.
The chemical equation is as follows:

Zn + 2H2O + 2NaOH--->Na2[Zn(OH)4] + H 2
