HCOOH = Formic Acid = Methanoic Acid

CH3COOH = Acetic Acid = Ethanoic Acid

When Acid reacts with NaOH, Salt formation takes place with the liberation of water molecules.

CH3COOH + NaOH → CH3COONa + H2O
