Question

write true or false and justify your answer in each of the following:

-The volume of the largest right circular cone that can be fitted in a cube whose edge is 2r equals to the volume of a hemisphere of radius r.

Open in App
Solution

The maximum cone that can be formed has height of 2r length and base diameter of 2r length or radius of r length
Thus Volume of cone = (1/3) * πr2 * h = (1/3) * πr2 * 2r = (2/3)* πr3
which is same as volume of hemisphere with radius r
