Solution

The fight by the peasants was against the talukdars and landlords who charged high rents and various other cesses. Peasants were asked to do begar. Tenants were frequently evicted because they did not have the security of tenure. Peasants demanded reduction in rents, abolition of revenue and boycotted landlords.

In Awadh, peasants were led by Baba Ramchandra - a sanyasi. Peasants looted bazars, attacked the houses of merchants and landlords. In June 1920, Oudh Kisan Sabha was estabished by Jawaharlal Nehru, Baba Ramchandra and a few others.
