Solution

The metal which is more reactive displaces the metal that is less reactive from its salt solution.

In the reactivity order of metals:

Iron is more reactive than copper.

Beaker A:

  • As iron is more reactive than copper it displaces copper from blue coloured copper sulphate solution.

  • Forms a yellowish-green iron sulphate solution.

Beaker B:

  • Copper being less reactive than iron cannot displace iron from yellowish-green iron sulphate solution.

  • No change happens.
