parachute is invariably used while jumping from aeroplane. answer in one word

Open in App
Solution

Parachute is used for safe landing. Here, a drag is created as the parachute falls through the air. Drag is defined as the friction between the moving object and the air that surrounds it. This resists the motion of the object. So, there are two forces acting on the body; gravitational force which pulls the body and the drag which resists the motion of the body. The gravitational force and the drag act in opposite directions
