B.R Ambedkar fought against the untouchablity and caste rigidities. He started a temple entry movement to fight against the upper caste who had banned the entry of Mahar community. B.R Ambedkar formed Republican party of India,which aimed to fight for the equal rights for Dalits. The party sought to represent the interests of the depressed classes. The party's main objective was to bring about political empowerment for the Dalits.
