Solution

We have,

Parvinder sold a watch at loss of 5

Let the cost price of watch =Rs.y

Loss =5

Selling price =y(100loss%)100

=y(1005)100

=95y100.......(1)

Given that,

Gain=7

Selling price=y(100+gain%)100

=y(100+7)100

=107100y.......(2)

According to given question,

107100y95100y=27

(10795)y100=27

12y=27×100

y=27×10012

y=9×1004

y=9×25

y=225

Cost price of watch=Rs.225

Hence, y=Rs.225 is the answer.
