Passive Immunity is a type of Immunity in which the antibodies produced by one indiviual transfers the antibodies to another individual, giving the individual the ability to counter diseases he or she hasn't even encountered. Transfer of antibodies that occurs from mother to foetus via the placenta is an instance of natural passive immunity. Similarly, transfer of antibodies through the mother's milk to the infant is another instance of passive immunity.
