Question

Patient lying in coma in hospital is Virtually supported by machines which replace heart and lungs. The patient is otherwise brain dead and has no self consciousness. Such patients who never come back to normal life are considered as living or nonliving?

in comma patient , the requisite amount of self concoiusness , but the metabolism is still going on .i,e consider as living as the metabolism is the the defining feature , if patient acquire self conciousness , = normal life , while if it will not achive then person becomes dead.
