Initial position of Paul can be shown as:


Now, Paul moves towards left by 5 steps. And, in the following figure, we get Paul's next position as 1, i.e., 45=1.


Further, Paul moves 1 step towards right. And, in the below illustration, we get Paul finally positioned at 0, i.e., (1)+1=0.
