Solution

The correct option is A Nematocysts of Hydra
Hydra has tentacles at the opening of the gastrovascular cavity which allows them to catch the prey. The specialized cells on the tentacles of the hydra are known as nematocysts. Penetrant, volvent and glutinant are types of nematocysts of hydra.
Penetrant is also known as stenotele. It paralyzes the prey by releasing poisonous fluid, hypotoxin after piercing into the skin or chitinous exoskeleton of the prey.
Glutinant is a sticky surface used to stick to prey, referred to as ptychocysts and found on burrowing (tube) anemones, which help create the tube in which the animal lives.
Volvent is also known as desmoneme. It produces a string like spirocysts which tightly coils around the prey. They are the smallest nematocysts.
So, the correct answer is option A.
