Mean expense of families can be calculated as:

$\overline{x}=\frac{\sum x_i{n}_i}{\sum n_i}$

$\overline{x}=\frac{30\times 3+40\times 7+50\times 6+60\times 6+70\times 3}{25}$

$\overline{x}=\frac{1240}{25}=Rs.49.6$
