Solution

Let the time taken for B to finish that work in x days.
time taken for A to finish the same work in (x6) days
One day B can finish the work is 1x
One day A can finish the work is 1x6
Given A and B are join together to finish that work in 4 days
i.e. 1x+1x6=14
x6+xx(x6)=14
2x6x26x=14
x26x=8x24
x214x+24=0
(x12)(x2)=0
x=2,12
Therefore, x=12(x=2 is not possible since 26<0)
The number of days B finish that work in 12 days.
