Solution

The correct option is D IgM
Hepatitis B is a viral infection which attacks the liver and can cause both acute and chronic disease. It is transmitted through contact with the blood or other body fluids of an infected person. Acute HBV infection is characterized by the presence immunoglobulin M (IgM) antibody. Antihepatitis B core antibodies (anti-HBc) consist of the IgM antibody class and appear shortly after the infection. Anti-HBc IgM antibody can be detected in serum and is the only serologic marker of a recent hepatitis B infection. Hence the level of IgM antibody is high in person X suffering from Hepatitis B. Thus the correct answer is option D.
