Weddings or marriage ceremonies should be celebrated with simplicity with family, close friends and relatives. Spending a lot of money on marriage ceremonies is not something I would prefer. There is no denying that a wedding is an occasion to celebrate as it happens once in a lifetime. The problem arises when people want to have a lavish wedding and spend a lot of money - money that in most cases they don't have. Spending borrowed money on a wedding is not a wise idea. Lavish weddings do more harm than good. While marrying couples should be allowed to choose the kind of wedding they should have, they should be under no compulsion to throw lavish parties that they cannot afford.
