The correct option is D Both A and B
AIDS
AIDS, caused by the human immunodeficiency virus, is transmitted by the transference of body fluids like blood, semen, and vaginal fluid that contains HIV. Intravenous drug abuse requires the use of needles. These needles are usually shared among fellow drug abusers. As a result if anyone has HIV, the needle containing contaminated blood can get transferred to another user, causing the spread of AIDS.
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B, caused by the hepatitis B virus, is transmitted by blood, semen and vaginal discharge contaminated with the virus. The use of needles by intravenous drug abusers increases the risk of HBV infections as these needles are shared.
Cancer
Cancer is caused due to various reasons like exposure to carcinogens and genetic reasons. Cancer is not spread by unsterilised needles. Therefore, intravenous drug abusers are not susceptible to cancer.
