1. Swollen neck appearance in people living in the hills is due to lack of Iodine in their body. This happens because at higher altitude iodine is deficient in soil and water. Low availability of iodine results in reduced functioning of the thyroid gland that causes goiter.
2. Oversecretion of growth hormones taking place during childhood causes gigantism in which there is an abnormal growth in body parts and bones due to increased secretions of growth hormone from pituitary gland.
3. Facial hair growth in the body of children aged 13 can be due to two reasons.

• Oversecretion of thyroid hormones from Thyroid glands. Hyperactivity of sex hormones that is testosterone in males and estrogen in females.
