(a) What is the distance between Peter and his image ?
(b) What will be the distance between Peter and his image if Peter walks distance of 1 m towards the mirror?

Distance between Peter and his image:
1-In case of plane mirror the distance of the object from the mirror is equal to the distance of the image from the mirror.
2-The distance of the peter is $3m$ from the mirror ,so the distance of the image is also equal to $3m$ from the mirror.

Distance between Peter and his image.

1-When Peter box a distance of $1m$ towards the mirror the distance between the mirror and Peter is equal to $2m$ hence the distance of the image of the peter is also equal to $2m$ from the mirror.
2-The distance of the image of the peter and Peter himself is is equal to $4m.$

Hence,the final distance between the Peter and his image is $4m.$
