For first d kilometer the Phoebe drives at x km\hr time taken = dx
For the next 2d kilometer the Phoebe drives at y km\hr
So time taken = 2dy
Then average rate = 3ddx+2dy
= 3ddyxy+2dxxy
= 3ddy+2dxxy
= 3dxydy+2dx
=3xy2x+y
